5 unpeeled, Seville oranges
1 unpeeled grapefruit
36 cloves
¼ pound of sugar
2 bottles of red wine (strong)
1 bottle of port

Wash the fruit and bake them in the oven until
they are brownish. Turn once.
Put them into a warmed earthenware bowl with
six cloves pricked into each.
Add the sugar and pour in the wine - not the port.
Cover and leave in a warm place for a day.
Squeeze the fruit into the wine and strain.
Add the port and heat.

DO NOT BOIL!

Serve “smoking hot” in small wine glasses.
Yield: 15 to 20 servings

Ye Gods and little Chestnuts..it's Winter

Ok it's nearly here, Winter is upon us and if those doom merchants at the Met office are to be believed snow is coming early, and no matter how ruffty tuffty you are that means the bike is hitting the garage for a bit.

So here are a few top Beaky tips.

Drain the fuel tank! Petrol in motorcycles can go off in as little as 3 weeks leading to gummy carburettors blocked jets and a bill for striping down the carb for an ultrasound clean!
Wash the bike! Wash and polish your bike. It removes harmful deposits from eating in to your chrome and body work then give a light covering of wd40 or Rock oil over the entire machine to protect it from condensation .. when the better weather arrives simply wash with a soapy cleaner and your ready to go!
Love your battery! Remove your battery and attach it to an optimiser. It keeps your battery tip top over winter, significantly extends the life of your battery and come spring you put it on your bike and it will go!!
Tuck your bike in! Even if your bike is in a garage..put a blanket over it or some type of cover it helps reduce moist air corroding sensitive parts of your system
At Night..... Always..Always.. read it a bedtime story..read from one of our accessory catalogues or Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol over a glass of Smoking Bishop, it drives the other half nuts and makes you chuckle!
